Dr Victoria Selby Psychology Services
Consultant Clinical Psychologist
Welcome to My Site. If you have found yourself here you are probably considering how to understand yourself, your relationships, patterns or history a little better. My main goal is to provide collaborative and relational support to people in a quest to improve aspects of their life. This might be in individual therapy, through supervision of your work, in sharing knowledge through accessible and tailored training or improving your organisations wellbeing and approach to one another. I am based in the North West of England where I have a face to face clinic space. But I am able to work nationally on projects and can offer virtual nationwide opportunities for therapy and supervision. Thank you for deciding to visit - please do get in touch if you have any further questions.

Frequently Asked Questions
To help you make a decision about your next steps
What is a Clinical Psychologist?
A Clinical Psychologist is a healthcare professional that has completed Doctorate level education in mental health difficulties. They train to apply psychological understanding to mental health problems and work with aspects of the mind to help support change in others.

What types of problems do you work with?
I have experience of working with a range of adult mental health difficulties. This includes; depression, anxiety, trauma, loss, adjustment, relational problems and with people that often attract a diagnosis of personality disorder. I specialise in perinatal wellbeing, working with people that have encountered identity changes in pregnancy and parenthood, the loss of infants and trauma that can occur in and around birth.

What will happen in our first appointment?
We will initially have a brief 15 minute phone call. The purpose of this isn't to develop a full understanding of what is happening for you, but to make a connection, hear each other and summarise, briefly, if I might be able to help you. Following this I generally offer an assessment period over 1-2 sessions. Here I will ask a little more about you, what's been happening and what is still happening in your life that might be contributing towards your stress or distress. During these appointments we will consider what you want from therapy and how I can work, alongside you, to promote change and understanding.

How much do you charge?
My charge is £140 for a 50 minute direct therapy appointment or £120 for a 1 hour for supervision. Please contact me for a quote on training and consultation pieces of work.

Do you take health insurance?
Currently I only take self-funded clients.

Do you offer virtual or face-to-face appointments?
I offer virtual and in person appointments. My clinic setting is located in the North West of England - close to Liverpool and Manchester. This clinic currently runs on a Friday but if you have a preference for another day I am happy to chat to you about this. Evening appointments will usually be completed virtually.

Do you have Terms & Conditions?
Yes, if you wish to proceed to working together I will send you a copy of my Terms & Conditions, GPDR information and a Therapeutic Contract. This enables us to work safely and professionally together.
